Title: Clubless Klaassen Finally Finds New Home
Ajax and Netherlands midfielder Davy Klaassen has signed for German outfit Werder Bremen
After weeks of negotiation the Dutchman has agreed a 3-year contract with the Bundesliga club
Klaassen spent the first few months of the 2022/23 campaign without a club, after leaving his boyhood club Ajax at the end of June 2022.
There was plenty of speculation as to where Klaassen's next destination would be, with Southampton, Leeds and Valencia all credited with an interest in the player.
However, it is Werder Bremen who have won the race for the 30-year-old, with the player signing a three-year deal.
Klaassen told the Werder Bremen website: "I am very happy to be here. Werder Bremen is a big club with a great history and I am looking forward to playing here."
Werder Bremen sporting director Clemens Fritz added: "We are very pleased that Davy has decided to join us. He is a player with a lot of experience and quality, and he will be a valuable addition to our squad.
Klaassen will wear the number 10 shirt for Werder Bremen.
